2023 Board Reorganization Meeting

The Board of School Trustees held their annual reorganization meeting at 7:30 a.m. on January 5, 2023.

 

1.01 Call to Order and Welcome

2.01 Administer the Oath of Office to newly elected Board Members, Mrs. Danielle N. Bazin and Mr. Timothy M. Vassar

Board members Tim Vassar and Danielle Bazin are sworn in as new board members.

3. Reorganization of the Board of School Trustees

  • Election of Officers: President - Scott Angel; Vice President - Brian Smith; Secretary - Scott Babjak

  • 3.04 Appointments by the Board

    • Treasurer of the Governing Body and School Corporation who is not a Board Member - Matt Ruess, CPCSC Chief Financial Officer

    • Deputy Treasurer of the Governing Body and School Corporation who is not a Board Member - Laurie Cooper, CPCSC Deputy Treasurer

  • 3.05 Appoint Legislative Liaison - Tim Vassar

  • 3.06 Appointment of Primary Law Firm - continue with Crist, Sears & Zic law firm

  • 3.07 Establish Board of School Trustees Meeting Dates, Time, and Location

    • The board will continue to meet on the fourth Monday of each month at 6:00 p.m. at the Administrative Service Center. Please note there are exceptions to the March and December dates

4.01 Approval of Resolution 

  • #823 - Authorizing Acquisition for Property for Required Road Improvements for Development of New Taft Middle School; and Resolution 

  • #824 - Authorizing Conveyance of Land to Town of Winfield Related to Development of New Taft Middle School 

  • These resolutions are part of the existing plans for the construction of the new Taft building. In order to accommodate a required turn lane, property was purchased by the district. By statute, the purchase price cannot exceed the appraised value. The land is then given to the Town of Winfield for the maintenance and care of the roadway, as per the original agreement with Winfield when the Taft project was approved.
