Hello Lake Street Families,

Let me first tell you how honored I am for the opportunity to serve the students and families of our school community.

A little about me… I grew up in Southern Indiana and am an Indiana University - Bloomington graduate.  I have worked in education for a little over 20 years now, 17 of which have been as a school administrator.  Prior to becoming an administrator, I taught English and coached Basketball, Track, and Cross Country.  I am married to Lindsay Munden and we have 5 children: Drew, Gavin, Vaughn, Piper, and Logan.  

As Principal, my goal is to partner with you to provide the best educational experience possible for our students.  What does that mean?  For me, that means making certain things a priority every day.  Safety is paramount.  I will do everything in my power to make our school a safe and inclusive place, both physically and emotionally.  Engagement is essential.  Our staff will be dedicated to providing lessons and experiences that captivate young minds and spark their imaginations.  Rigor is imperative.  Our curriculum, which is embedded in best practice, will meet students where they are at and challenge them to grow academically every day.  And finally, educating the “Whole Child” is essential.  We will partner with you to meet the individual needs of our students, academically, behaviorally, and social-emotionally.

As we prepare for the upcoming school year, I want to stress how important I believe it is to have a strong partnership between school and home. I have been doing this long enough to know that it really does take a village…  The more adults positively impacting a child’s growth and development, the greater the outcome.  One of my goals this school year is to provide many opportunities for parents, educators, and other stakeholders to come together as a team to collaborate and provide rewarding educational experiences for our students.
